Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Class 1 Driver to transport various types of cargo using Super B-Trains, Step Decks, and Dry Vans. As a member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and secure delivery of goods to our clients throughout British Columbia and Alberta.
Responsibilities:
Operate Class 1 vehicles, including Super B-Trains, Step Decks, and Dry Vans, adhering to all safety and traffic regulations.
Safely load, secure, and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and protection of goods.
Plan routes effectively to ensure on-time delivery while considering road conditions, traffic, and weather.
Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicles are in proper working condition.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and other relevant information.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, fellow drivers, and customers to provide updates on delivery progress.
Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety protocols and equipment maintenance.
Qualifications:
Valid Class 1 driver's license with a clean driving abstract.
Proven experience operating Super B-Trains, Step Decks, and Dry Vans.
Strong understanding of transportation regulations and safety standards.
Excellent navigational and route planning skills.
Ability to handle various types of cargo and ensure proper load securement.
Effective communication skills and customer service orientation.
Physical fitness and ability to handle the demands of loading/unloading cargo.
Minimum 2 years of Class 1 driving Winter/Mountain experience.
