This is the all time largest home chess set I've ever had the pleasure of seeing let alone owning. Only those giant mall chess sets are bigger
It's quite an old unrestored chess set but it's all there. a couple of the square tiles on the playing board are lifting up a bit and need to be glued back down
Some of the black players need a little gloss black touch up paint. The brown players are all good. All the players are drenched in a gorgeous clear coat and have green felt bottoms
The bi-folding casing when open measures an unbelievable 27.5" square and the board is an impressive 3" thick (6" thick when closed)
The playing board squares are 3.4" square
The king measures 8.5" tall while the pawns measure 3.75" tall
I purchased a brand new polyurethane foam cushion to place into the lid of the casing so as to protect the players from crashing around
So if you're in the market for a totally unique one of a kind chess set and you're intrigued by it's unique largeness, then this is the one you don't want to miss
