One of the sets I'm selling is this very old and quite valuable antique Mexican onyx chess set
These are Mayan Aztec chess players and they rest in beautifully individualized velour depressions within the casing
The players are in pristine mint condition, no chips or cracks, and are guaranteed to impress
The king measures 3.75" tall while the pawns measure 2" tall
The casing measures 17" square and is 2.5" tall
The playing board itself is 15.75" square and is framed within this attractive burgundy casing.
Two depressions on the side are there to facilitate access to lift up the board to get at the players
The underneath part of the lid and of the casing are also lined with a burgundy velour material
Overall this chess set presents very well and deserves to be displayed in a special place in your home
