Job Summary

Fudoushin Dojo is seeking a passionate and dedicated Shin Kyokushin Karate Instructor to provide high-quality martial arts instruction to students of all ages and skill levels. The instructor is responsible for planning and leading classes, demonstrating techniques, and fostering a positive, safe, and supportive dojo environment that aligns with the principles of Budo. This role is crucial in mentoring students to develop their physical skills, mental discipline, and personal character.

Key Responsibilities

Instruction and Training:

Plan and conduct engaging Shin Kyokushin Karate classes for various age groups and belt levels.

Teach fundamental and advanced techniques, including kihon (basics), kata (forms), and kumite (sparring).

Clearly demonstrate techniques and provide individualized feedback and corrections to students to ensure proper form and understanding.

Instill the core values of Shin Kyokushin Karate, such as respect, discipline, perseverance, and humility.

Student Development and Assessment:

Monitor, assess, and track the progress of each student.

Prepare students for belt grading examinations by ensuring they meet the required syllabus standards.

Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to help students achieve their personal goals.

Safety and Dojo Management:

Ensure a safe training environment at all times by enforcing dojo rules and safety protocols.

Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the dojo training area.

Administer basic first aid as needed.

Communication and Community Building:

Communicate effectively with students and their parents/guardians regarding class schedules, progress, and dojo events.

Act as a positive role model and contribute to the welcoming and supportive community culture of Fudoushin Dojo.

Collaborate with the Head Instructor and other staff to support dojo operations and events.

Qualifications and Skills

Required:

A strong and dedicated background as a practitioner of Kyokushin Karate or Shin Kyokushin Karate.

Deep understanding of karate techniques, philosophy, and dojo etiquette.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of students, including children, youth, and adults.

A patient, enthusiastic, and encouraging demeanor.

Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and/or weekends.

Preferred:

Previous experience in teaching, coaching, or instructing martial arts is a significant asset.

Valid certification in CPR and First Aid. (Willingness to obtain certification is required).
