compensation: $20 - $30 per hour and wholly commensurate with maturity and related experience
employment type: full-time
job title: Corporate Receptionist / Administrative Assistant
Established in 1937, Baker Newby LLP is one of the largest law firms in the Fraser Valley with offices in Chilliwack and Abbotsford.

Our Abbotsford office is looking for a Corporate Receptionist/Administrative Assistant. Hours of work are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday.

This position primarily entails operating our multi-line switchboard, greeting and directing clients and service providers, distribution of incoming mail and faxes, coordinating couriers and deliveries, and some general administrative office work such as managing office supplies, meeting room preparations, and working with vendors.

In addition, further training will be provided on specific legal administrative functions, so that you will be able to assist senior legal assistants with some day-to-day activities in running a legal matter.

The ideal candidate must possess a strong sense of professionalism, strong interpersonal skills, and poise and etiquette, to be the front-desk ambassador of a professional services firm. Law firm or other professional services firm reception experience will be considered an asset.

Anticipating that aspiring legal administrative assistants may view this posting as an opportunity to join a law firm, those applicants with a primary desire to continue their professional receptionist and general office services career may be given preference, as those duties form the primary responsibilities and priority of the position. While we appreciate all interest, only those being considered for an interview will be contacted.
  • Principals only. Recruiters, please don't contact this job poster.
