I can’t believe how it has stood the test of time.
Have I got a deal for you.
The Blackest Navy Blue ½”fur lining on the inside is in very good condition.
The foam underneath has been formed to fit an electric Guitar.
As you can see in the pictures, it is holding my Cort Short Bass at the moment, that is for sale as well, on another ad.
I put my hubby’s Fender Squire Bullet Stratocaster and Fender Thin-line Telecaster in for a couple pictures too, so that you can see the versatility of this awesome little flight case.
Hubby jokingly said that if you wanted his Strat or Tele you might be able to twist his arm for the right price…..lol
Aluminum casting on solid hardwood. The exterior measurements are 41.25” x18.25” x 6.6”
All the edges are double reinforced with a 1” wide L corner round strip, and the corners are triple reinforced with rivets as well.
The handle gives a nice firm grip and is covered in heavy duty solid rubber and chrome.
I can’t believe the weight only being 25.6 pounds, but quality is required to have your instrument safe when it is in flight or on the bus.
It has three clips to hold it closed and a full length piano hinge to keep the two sides of the box together. No key.
They were very smart to make the edging frame of the opening an “S” fold into each other for an almost watertight fit.
There is a box on the inside for incidentals like guitar straps and picks. It has been reinforced with rivets just like the edging and corner protectors.
This case was built at Dependable Cases Co, Surrey, BC Canada
They Specialized in Custom cases for musical instruments, including guitars, basses, keyboards, and drums before they went out of business.
Similar boxes, from rival companies that make the custom fender flight cases; sell for over $700 to $1500 before tax.
I tried contacting Dependable Cases Co, but their number and address is offline.
I tried to send them an email, but there was no return response.
BBB says: Based on available business profile information, Dependable Cases in Surrey, BC—a sole proprietorship specializing in musical instrument cases operated by Chris Nand—began business on January 1, 1985.
Since then, there is no other information that leads to someone to talk to.
The only Chris Nand I could find is a councillor for the District of Sparwood, BC and he claims to not ever been connected to the company Dependable Cases. But he was nice to talk to. I think his family was having a BBQ at the time I called.….
So, after doing my do-diligence; I could only come up with the conclusion that they no longer exist.
Another one bites the dust!…..The Covid Outbreak shut down so many good small businesses like this one.
However, their cases are phenomenal and if you have one, you are very lucky to have a rare well-made beauty…
Look at the pictures and YouTube video, they will tell the story.
I try to make sure my day lighting gives you the closest color as possible.
I kept it in a temperature-controlled, microbiologically monitored environment and in a dry storage; and in a dark place for the past decade when it wasn’t in use.
My home is pet free, dust free, and a non-smoking place.
I live in walnut Grove near the Save-On Foods. If you are interested. Let me know, and I will give you my phone number for you to text for the gps address. AS IS, firm price, cash only, pick up only, no E-transfers.
Always moma jo
