We are a small curbing and concrete repair business based out of Langley seeking an additional set of hands to join our team.
the ideal qualifications we are looking for in an individual are
-physically fit and able to perform demanding tasks outdoors in the elements.
-able to speak english fluently
-motived and able to problem solve
-understanding of basic tool use
-have a good demeanour and be able to work with the team respectfully
i am currently only interested in hiring people with a drivers license and at least 5 years of experience driving.
preference will be given to candidates comfortable driving a truck and towing a trailer as I'm hoping to have the applicant eventually be able to drive our truck and trailer to site.
further preference will be given to anyone having previous concrete experience although it is not necessary.
This job is ideal for someone with a flexible work schedule. We typically start early between 6 or 7am and are usually done by 1 or 2pm, sometimes earlier. occasionally we need to work over 8 hours at which point you will be paid overtime. our jobs have us travelling all over the lower mainland. we will typically start our day in Langley and drive together in a truck to the work site and return back to Langley to end the day. you will be paid for time spent in the truck travelling to and from sites. I had to add that as i understand some landscaping companies only pay for time spent "working" and not travelling.
the work consists of a small team usually going to sites to either prep or extrude and finish curbing in commercial parking lots.
We also do demolition, flatwork, crack repair and other concrete repair. previous experience is an asset but not a necessity as long as you are a quick learner and physically capable we can teach you what you need to know.
We often work Saturdays to take advantage of empty parking lots in business complexes, and during the months of December, January and February we slow down significantly and you will likely need to find other work or go skiing for the season.
due to weather and timelines of carious clients scheduling is difficult so i try to come up with a plan for the week but it frequently changes.
Pay will start at $30 an hour if you have no previous experience. If you have previous concrete or trades experience and can drive a truck and trailer I am happy to discuss a better hourly rate.
Again this is not a full time job with steady hours. This is a job suited for someone who either enjoys not having a super rigid schedule and has other hobbies or someone who has another part time flexible position.
