Read the reviews of the L300, I could not resist.
Using JBL plans I made the cabinet for the L300 speaker array. I decided to put the midrange horn with wafer grill and the tweeter in a separate cab to sit on top with the woofer by itself in the correct cab.
-driver 2482 with long exponential horn and HL92 lens
-15" woofer 136H
-tweeter 075
-cross-over made by Web Sound for these speakers
This system has a neutral sound profile,,, I love the older JBL's.
The summit L300 sounds better that a modern system
The L300 Summit represents an era of historic greatness, when products that were “Made in America” meant that it was the most innovative design, the best quality materials and components, the absolute best construction and attention to detail, and the best performance possible. In 1975 JBL was at its zenith in terms of Quality Control, Engineering and Design Innovation, and these L300 Summits were State of the Art. Impeccably styled, superb cabinet construction, and absolutely phenomenal driver quality created what was then the astronomically priced statement speaker at $3,000 a pair in 1975 and now seen used on Ebay for U$6500.00
