Finally decided to sell my SRT4. It has been my daily driver for six years and has had zero mechanical issues. Family is getting bigger so time to let someone else love driving this car.
If you are not familiar with the SRT4, the Dodge SRT team started with the Caliber platform and upgraded it in almost every way. The engine is a robust 2.4l 4cyl that makes 285hp, mated to a manual 6 speed Getrag transmission. The design team used a turbo from Mitsubishi (Lancer Evo), brakes from the Dodge Charger police cruisers, seats from the Viper, sport tuned suspension and stainless exhaust.
There are some cool features inside too, such as real time display of your individual tire pressure, fuel consumption (my best was 7.7 l/100km, usually around mid-9’s), 0-100kph time, 0-100-0, 1/8 and 1/4 mile times, acceleration, braking and lateral G forces. Dodge publishes a top speed of 155mph / 250kph. This car has not been raced and remains completely stock except for a K&N air filter.
It is a sleeper car and the most fun I’ve ever driven on 4 wheels. I will miss it. Definitely not perfect cosmetically, some wear to the paint finish and chrome, a couple little dings and scuffs but no accidents. The windshield has a crack but it is below the windshield wipers so not really noticeable.
The sunroof stopped operating and the ceiling leaks at the pillar in front of the passenger side window. These may be related? I hardly ever opened the sunroof and if I were keeping the car, I would apply silicone around some areas outside the leak spot. The corner of the windshield is one possible area and I would also seal the sunroof from above in case that’s it, but I’m selling as-is in case somebody else wants the sunroof to open or address this differently. Around 6 months ago, the drivers side rear door did not unlock with the rest and the airbag light came on around the same time. The lock started working again but the airbag light is still on. I think these could be related due to the timing. The car has several airbags and I think it may be the one above that rear passenger door. Other than that, no codes, no issues.
I have been driving it regularly but plan to clean it up and post some better pics this weekend. Pearl black paint, black interior. Mileage is around 238k.
Thanks for your interest… it’s been an awesome car for me and I’d say own one while you can!
