The MONGOOSE has a super-light 15-inch aircraft aluminum frame with a long seat post to accommodate a taller rider. An Aluminum bike has 2 major advantages over regular steel bikes.
1. Aluminum is much lighter than steel, and the lightness of the bike makes it much easier to pedal

Mongoose produces quality bikes uses only name brand components. There are no cheap Chinese generic parts on this bike. The bike features Shimano EZ Fire shifters that provide instant shifts and prevent the rider from ever missing a shift. The bottom lever shifts the bike down a gear, and the top lever shifts the bike up a gear. The bike shifts instantly and quietly in each gear. The bike has a very low 1st gear to conquer any hill and a high top 24th gear for effortless pedalling on the flats.
The rear derailleur is a quality ALUMINUM Shimano ACERA unit that provides precise alignment with the chain and rear gear. There are no cheap plastic parts to break. A quality ALUMINUM Shimano derailleur will not require constant $79 tune-ups.
The 26-inch wheels are lightweight aluminum that make pedalling very easy. The tires are wider than traditional bike tires and provide an incredibly comfortable ride. The bike also features stainless steel spokes. Stainless steel spokes are:
1. Much stronger than regular steel spokes and often will prevent the wheel from bending if an object or curb is hit.
2. Will not rust. Regular steel spokes will rust at the nipple, and if a wheel needs to be straightened when the spoke is adjusted, it will often break, resulting in a costly repair.
3. Stainless steel spokes are shiny and give the bike a nicer look.
The bike also has a $49 rear carrier, which is very handy.
