Looking for a comfortable ride for commuting, riding with the family, or just riding for fun? Look no further than the Supercycle Solaris 700C Hybrid Comfort Bike with a 16-inch frame. This bike focuses on the comforts of riding to give you a package that ensures long-term enjoyment. A HYBRID bike combines the low rolling resistance and easy pedaling of a road bike with the comfort of a cruiser bike.
The bike has an upgraded $59 super comfortable Seat covered in a weatherproof fabric. The seat is supported on two large rubber balls to cushion the ride. The bike also has a long suspension seat post to accommodate taller rider. The suspension seat post cushions the ride, preventing any jarring to the back.
The bike has an adjustable front handlebar stem that can be adjusted to allow for upright riding. It can also be quickly lowered for more aggressive riding. Most of the hybrids have fixed handlebars and do not allow for any adjustment. There is about 13 inches of variation.
The bike features a quality metal derailleur without any plastic parts. The shifters are top-quality twistt grip shifters. They are the safest shifters as they allow the rider to shift gears without ever taking their fingers off the handle grips. The bike has 18 speeds with a super low 1st gear to conquer any mountain and a high 18th gear for effortless pedaling on the flats. The bike shifts instantly and quietly in each gear.
The bike uses ALUMINUM linear pull V-brakes that provide superior stopping in wet or dry conditions.
The Solaris 18 speed has top-quality ZOOM front shocks that do an incredible job of smoothing out the ride. Shocks make a huge difference on hybrids as the tire pressure is usually set around 70psi. Without shocks, the ride is quite harsh.
The bike has 700C lightweight aluminum wheels, which make pedaling easy. The bike also features aluminum hubs, which is important as that is where the wheel bearings are, and being aluminum they will never rust and prevent the wheel from spinning freely. The bike also has front and rear fenders, which are very handy if you ever get caught in the rain or on a wet road.
The Solaris is a great commuter or recreational bike.
Was $399 when purchased and has only been ridden a few times. It still looks, drives, shifts, and brakes as new.
