Very few children or youths bikes are aluminum due to the high cost of aluminum and the specialized equipment and skills required to build an aluminum bike.
The bike has a 12-inch frame with a very long seat post to accommodate a taller youth or allow for growth. It is built by Giant and uses the same components as the Giant bikes.
The bike features a Shimano Tourney derailleur, which provides precise and quiet shifts in each gear. The 7-speed shifter is a Shimano REVOSHIFT twist shifter. These are the nicest shifters, as they have a thicker grip surface, and the youth find them much easier to shift gears with. The twist shifters are also the safest shifters, as the youth can shift gears without ever taking their hands off the handgrips.
The bike has aluminum 24-inch rims with all-terrain tires. The light aluminum rims also make the bike very easy to pedal. The tires are all-terrain tires suitable for on or off-road and are still as new.
For less than the price of a cheap steel 24 inch Walmart bike, you can get a top-quality aluminum bike.
